Hunting Lodge at Gabelbach

Built in 1783 as a ducal guesthouse, it was the scenery of glittering parties. Goethe, too, stayed often here, but he didn't share the hunting-fever of his Duke. Today it is a museum and Goethe memorial with unique hunting exhibits. Visitors will also learn about Goethe's scientific studies. The oilpainting of the Duchess Anna Amalia (1730-1807) with her two sons Carl August und Constantin is of particular interest.
