New funding program for women interested in starting a business at TU Ilmenau

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is expanding start-up support for women willing to start their own businesses: The EXIST-Women program is designed to encourage females at universities to attempt the path to entrepreneurial independence.

The Start-up Service of TU Ilmenau, would like to offer this support to you and therefore are applying for the funding of BMWK.

What do you get?*

  • 12-month program with knowledge, coaching & networking exclusively for women (01.12.2023 - 30.11.2024)
  • a female mentor
  • Workspace for concentrated work ( 24/7 access)
  • 2,000 € for material resources (e.g. for technical equipment, prototypes, travel expenses, participation fees for events, additional coaching)
  • optional: 3-month stipend of up to € 3,000 (depending on degree, if no income or employment of max. 20 h/week; subject to tax and social security contributions)

Interested women can apply by sending an e-mail to ilmkubator@tu-ilmenau.de.**

Required is an application with:

  • Letter of motivation (max. 1 page) and
  • Video message (max. 3 minutes, style open: also slideshow or animation with voice-over are allowed).
  • Contents: Needs and expectations for the 12-month program, motivation for self-employment, vision: where to go, current situation (student, employee, etc.).

Application deadline is September 30, 2023.

Questions can be submitted in writing to the Ilmkubator at any time. In addition, we offer a consultation hour on EXIST-Women:

On September 12, 2023, interested parties can dial in via Webex between 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and ask their questions.
